Seventeen-year-old Meenu Rawat accuses revered spiritual leader Sunil “Baapji” Chakosi of sexual assault, sparking a media storm and police investigation. Her fight for justice challenges blind faith, entrenched power and institutional complicity.

Hunkkaar is worth a watch for some memorable performances and its serious subject matter, but its screenplay keeps it from becoming the compelling legal thriller it could have been.
Rating: 2.0/5 · Bollywoodbubble · Negative ✗
Hunkkaar: The Roar tackles an important subject and is backed by a capable cast, but its slow pace and familiar narrative prevent it from making a lasting impact. Despite commendable performances from Aneet Padda, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Raghubir Yadav, the series never fully finds its roar.
Rating: 3.0/5 · Koimoi · Positive ✓
Hunkkaar: The Roar doesn’t roar, but whatever it does, it gets saved entirely on the strength of Aneet Padda and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s performances. This could have worked so much better if it had something more to say. Anything!
